01Explanation
How it works
Under GDPR, the company with the assistant on its website is the controller of the conversations. The provider that builds and runs the assistant is the processor.
Between them there should be a data processing agreement that says what the data may be used for, how it is protected and what happens to it when the collaboration ends. The provider may in turn use sub-processors, such as the platform behind the assistant.
