Look up orders
The customer asks where their parcel is, and the assistant replies with the order status instead of sending a link to a tracking page.
Guide
An AI assistant that is not connected to your store can only give general answers. Connected to Shopify, it can answer what customers actually want to know: where their order is, whether their size is in stock and what the product costs. This is how it works.
01What it can do
The customer asks where their parcel is, and the assistant replies with the order status instead of sending a link to a tracking page.
Stock levels and prices are fetched in the moment, so the answer matches what is in the store right now.
Sizes, materials and variants are answered from the product information you already have in Shopify.
The assistant goes through your terms, checks that the order can be returned and starts the case in the chat.
02Step by step
We handle most of it. What you need to do is approve the access and test.
We go through which questions it should answer and what it needs to read. Reading orders, products and stock is usually enough.
The connection is made through Shopify's API with only the permissions that are needed. You approve them in your Shopify admin and can remove the access whenever you like.
The chat widget is added to your theme without anything having to be rebuilt, and matched to your store's colours and shapes.
The assistant first runs in a version only you can see. You ask your own questions and tell us what to change.
Once you are happy it goes public. We go through the conversations every month and adjust to what customers actually ask.
03Permissions
You decide what the assistant may do in the store. It can look up an order without being able to change it. If it should do more, such as starting a return, it gets permission for exactly that and nothing else.
An order number is not secret in the way a password is. So decide how the customer should show that the order is theirs, for example with the email address the order was placed with, before the assistant answers questions about individual orders.
04More systems
Most stores have more systems than the store itself. Tickets in Zendesk, confirmations through Gmail, text messages through Twilio and customers in HubSpot. The assistant can be connected to several systems at once, and if a system has an API, we can connect to it. All connections are listed on Services.
05FAQ
No. The chat widget is added to the theme you already have, and we handle the installation.
Only if you give it permission to. Without it, it can read the order but not change it.
Yes. The assistant answers in the language the customer writes in, with the same details from Shopify.
Usually a couple of weeks from the first conversation to going live.
